Transgender/nonbinary/gender-questioning adolescents and families

My goal is to help teens better understand themselves in the crucial phase between childhood and adulthood. Exploring, identifying, and expressing gender are all healthy parts of adolescent development. For those teens who fall under the trans or questioning umbrella, this time of physical change, self-discovery, and growing independence can be particularly difficult, as well as liberating and joyous.

I am a gender-affirming therapist, meaning I regard the diversity of gender identity and expression as a normal and real part of the vast array of humanity. I support trans/nonbinary teens in developing social and emotional skills, communicating needs in healthy ways, minimizing distress, and increasing gender congruence.

Parents, I am here for you, too. When your kid tells you they’re trans, non-binary, or questioning, this can stir up a wide range of emotions, fears, questions, judgments, and self-judgments. No matter how much you love your kid and want the best for them, you’re going to have feelings. One of the best things you can do to support your child is to be supported yourself. I can help with this.
